Cake Decorating Fundamentals Boot Camp

The Cake Bootcamp is a hands-on experience designed to teach the essential skills to create beautifully iced cakes with straight sides and crisp edges. The course focuses on techniques and principles that build a strong foundation for cake decorating, empowering students to confidently continue their learning journey at home. Full course description is on the registration page. Ages 16+, this course will be capped at 12 students.
Additional Information
A key part of the course is understanding the critical role of temperature in baking and decorating, including how butter consistency and ideal cake and frosting conditions impact results. Participants will have the opportunity to make Swiss meringue buttercream through hands-on practice, and proper technique for making cake batter will be demonstrated. This bootcamp is all about technique, so cakes will not feature intricate designs. However, if time permits at the end of each class, students can experiment with colored icing and piping tips for simple decorations. By the end of the program, participants will leave with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to recreate what they’ve learned in their own kitchens. Class will take place Thursdays 4/3, 4/10, 4/17, 4/24 from 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM. TOOLKITS ARE NOT REQUIRED TO TAKE THE COURSE.
